An Unexpected Artist (Lucy Hay)
Based in St. George in North Wales, Lucy is inspired by her environment, the beauty of the North Wales countryside, the diversity of the Wildlife around her and the enormous warmth of the people that live there. Lucy’s drawings and designs come from the buzzing bees in the garden, the pheasant in the field, the stag on the hill, the ducks in the pond, the ever-decreasing hedgehogs and of course dragons! Her inspiration comes from beautiful North Wales as well as her many experiences around the World. Lucy loves the idea of people wearing her art and therefore hand prints her designs onto luxurious cashmere blend scarves. These super soft accessories can be worn as scarves or as shawls and are a must-have for every season.

Becoming An Unexpected Artist
Thanks to an art teacher at school, who suggested that Lucy should give up art due to her lack of talent, Lucy spent much of her adult life steering clear of anything remotely creative, always believing that she wasn’t artistic.
After joining a beginners drawing class in 2016, Lucy realised that she was actually holding her own in the class! After a couple of courses, Lucy started printing cards from some of her drawings, the first being the sunflower. In that first year Lucy sold over 250 Christmas Cards to local gift shops, post offices and during craft markets.
Lucy was encouraged to print on mugs, coasters and bags and finally started printing on chiffon scarves in 2017. The scarves proved so popular that Lucy sourced beautiful Cashmere blend scarves. Her designs looked stunning on the Cashmere blend and Lucy now concentrates on creating new and exciting designs on a wide variety of Cashmere blend colours.
